Makinsey’s  story…

It was a perfect wedding day and I love to tell people about it.:)

I met my husband in Junior High. We knew each other all through Junior High and High School, but we didn’t start dating until the summer of our Senior year, 3 months before he left to serve a mission for the LDS church. We wrote while he was gone for the 2 years and when he got back in August 2012 we decided it was right and got engaged November 10th 2012 and married January 11th 2013. A quick engagement, but perfect and just what we wanted. Since it was a short engagement, I only had 8 weeks to plan for my big day. It was a little overwhelming at times, but I had been working in and doing weddings since I was 12 in my grandma’s business,  Event Masters, so I knew a few of the ins and outs.

When my big day came I’d been hoping for snow since the beginning and sure enough we got the first big storm of the year! It was beautiful! I was freezing and so was everyone else standing out there in the snow waiting for us to come out, but the pictures and video turned out amazing! Our photographer, Vellvet Images, and videographer, Robin Saville, were both amazing and couldn’t have been better. A perfect choice for us and our day! They captured it so well! It was our perfect storm. 🙂 We couldn’t have picked a better day!

Something to remember is there will always be something that will go wrong or not how you planned, such as this storm/blizzard that came on our day, but that doesn’t matter because it always somehow turns out better than you even imagined.

                                               Congratulations Makinsey & Brayden!

Makinsey’s suggestions:

First suggestion; go to bridal shows and enter in all the giveaways you can, it’s a good way to get free stuff, also it’ll be an eye opener for all the things you’ll need to do for your day.

Next suggestion; get a planner or notebook that you can take around with you everywhere. I had mine at my desk and when I would think of something I wanted, I’d write it down in my notebook. Also I made tabs in my planner to keep organized and stay on budget. When I’d buy something for my food table, I’d jot it down in my planner under the food/catering tab. When your on a budget and time crunch, it helps to have something to keep you on track and know when your about to go overboard, lets be honest a bride can get a little carried away in the moment and have eyes telling you to buy it and a wallet screaming no!
